I stood upon the world of man
My first cry one of anger
Brought to life, ablaze with rage
My eyes blind, I stood in darkness
A youth, rebellious
Strong willed and hard
Hard in heart and in mind
Mingled little among others
Chose to walk alone
Once I served the veangeful one
that being whose law I now abhor
Dressed in white to match my state
I kneeled before the cross
Then came the day I now rejoice
Night's shroud lifted off
Crying aloud I raised my eyes
To the newly rising sun
Then, appalled, I learned of wrath
the fiery rage, that burnt within
those who wore the cross
cast always those who would not bear it
into the roaring flame
Those innocent souls who felt no malice
Refusing only to turn away
From the gods they so cherished
From the lords they so loved
Now I walk the path of shadows
My eyes, looking always to the light
One day to reach a wearied end
The light of truth, at last to glimpse
The path before winds and curves
Between the shadows and the light
Ever nearing one or the other
They seek to draw me to their side
I walk the path my gods would have me
I seek them out evermore
Their light, my torch in the darkness
My only beacon in the night
Carrying torch and carrying steel
I walk this path, a weary traveler
My body worn, I would know rest
Hurt by this endless trekking
I stumble on, through the night
---------------
A shadow, shroud upon my heart
It grasps at me, its claws tearing
At my heart, and at my mind
lures me closer to the shadows
The fire rushes at my call
it circles me in its wake
roaring loudly to match my cry
it tears through the night
one blow struck, one blow returned
to the brow of the sender
the shadow driven to the night
the sender wracked by pain
gnarled hands to beckon me, shadows sing their song
enfold now my soul in shadow
peace within these darkened arms
blindness found only in its love
the darkness rears in the day
as strong in light as in shadow
it haunts the children, whose minds
cannot overcome its might
---------------
the steel is shattered, it waits
for a day in which I shall reforge
the sword given me by my masters
the man of the wolf shall circle me
---------------
The fire, burning low within
rekindles again at my call
to warm me in my slumber
to rouse me from my sleep
---------------
the law is that which I know
to follow, one must understand
the light of understanding shines most dimly
within the hearts of the young
he whose face I knoweth not
lord of lords whose face I know
to them I am friend and ally
to both I am servant
yet knowledge I not always grasp
in my ignorance I know much
I gather the shadows that remain in night
to thrust them into day
formless is the spirit, pure
given form, becomes the god of man
we realize what we know not
by law and by shape
my lords, vassals of the unknown
so am I vassal to them
I follow their banner, for it I know
and follow thus the formless
---------------
the bellows blow a white hot steel
the sword broken I shall reforge
the task is long it's process intricate
a finer blade shall be its yield
the shadows flee from the light of the star
the hammer shines in my heart
the four surround me at my call
they guard me from the night
---------------
awareness comes only from peril
the shadows only seen in night
the wanderer, the seeker
is wise to carry flame
rise and fall, the breath divine
its spark dancing in the heart
the whirlwind gathers glowing bright
I sway to the fires dance
the stars surround me pushing back
emptiness is their name
they push back the shadow, part the night
yet extinguish the light of day
---------------
a woman's mind is strange indeed
her musings are bound in misery
she plucks and taunts her own image
only happy when in pain
---------------
river runs dry the lake is blocked
it is forced to wait in anxiousness
for when at last the flood tears it down
when its flow is left unchecked
to know the world is great indeed
though the heart holds greater mystery
to know thyself is greater
than to understand the world
---------------
in her eyes burns the flame
to match that of her hair
the fire inside her must burn as brightly
its flames warming her heart
to beckon to her, or wait in doubt
her path has branched from mine
long has it been since I've known her presence
the star shall draw her near
---------------
the shadow rears
its arms outstretched
it blocks the light, it blocks the brilliance
the glowing words of elusive truth, spoken by gentle lord
its arms outstretched it blocks my path
its shape that burning symbol
the symbol of my hatred
its lord good, a shepherd old
its sheep whose souls are folded in darkness
I cry for life, to live in peace
my cries are made in vain
the crossarmed shadow ever lengthens
blocks my path, a darkened chain
it binds me to the night
its law, injustice, its knife edged tongue
flits against all peace, its principle
ever wreaks of prejudice
the sword it gives to defend its followers
honed to a double edge
my soul ever brooding in shadow
my mind in darkness, my path cluttered
the path before, the land of the foe
in darkness cry, my sleep is troubled
for I know not the way
---------------
Ever on the blind man stumbles
Through his night never ending
In his night, a hundred veils of shadow
looks always for the light
The light divine has lost its glamour
Intense in form, yet far away
Light that lends no comfort
Its touch is always cold
Rent and scarred by the claws of the foe
My heart aching, a tattered mass
The claws black with hatred
have left behind their taint
I stumble on, my hands bound
My eyes blind, I perceive all as night
My works wrought in the deepest darkness
Never to be held to the light
I search, I wait for fellow flame
Its warmth to comfort me
Caught in my eternal winter
A fire at which to huddle
As yet this idealic torch
lit by hopes bitter fallacy
burns low and dwindles
it flame encircled by frost
----------------
New light to break in shadow
Those lying in night open their eyes
Though but a candle to the suns fiery blaze
it is light none the less
To feed the body, tendon and leaf
To feed the mind, the page
Fire to feed the angry heart
The sword to feed the flame
----------------
the cloud forms in the heart
the storm gathering strength
the strain of peace growing greater
the lightning flickers fast
shadows born of the foes fallacies
shroud my eyes, block the light
the fire grows to light my way
its light, a twisted truth
----------------
Offers of light
Answers of shadow
The heart is torn by the claw
Scarred and rent, by the word
It flutters slowly, losing pace
----------------
open your eyes, child of light
long closed, heavy from sleep
subtle hands to weave subtle works
thy lips speaking subtle words
clothed in white
he grins in mischief
he stares at me, his eyes black
black as night, the shadow in which he lies
buried deep within
---------------
the wolf's howl sounds loudly
shudder in night, the cold of dawn
battle worn, weary of war
I trudge forward to the horn's calling
bristled and hunched
circling me, the man of the wolf
shall be the next
ordeal that threatens my family's safety
I shall fill his mind with flame
fire shall I call, burning wrath
to form a shield, my anger's brilliance
the fire shall rise, a curtain of pain
arcing to punish the foe
shield of brilliance the stars stand
a whirlwind gather to open the door
to light's fair domain
thor's hand to give me strength
---------------------
Troubled by shadow, a calling, a word
my heart's flame bending back
it burns but brighter, warning the hand
lest it be burnt in its blaze
child of light
lord of day
shafts of sun, his crown bejeweled
his name spells hope
his word is love
his light eases the pain
the rays of sun spell his name
harmony's heart, sixfold spiral
to raise the winds from his shire
to draw them to this portal shorn with leaves
his glimmer to raise the silent heart
to draw them to my door
white maiden's touch, the fruit of this work
rays of sun in my shadow
------------------------
A wall before blocks my way
the portal closed, the fire low
an empty page, the fruit of my labor
shades of shadow to veil my eyes
-------------
the child waits, in darkness sleeps
tiny hands clasped in silent prayer
prayers never to be heard
about his sphere burns the flame
bereft of kindness, left to suffer
his heart is blackened by anger's flame
the year's have passed, his youth is over
as love so tortured him, love's hope died
the shadows huddle, close at his side
keen softly at wizened ear, sleeps in silence
afraid of light, it always turns to shadow
----------------
The bond is broke, the liar burnt
forked tongue twisted
skin blackened by the wrath of flame
mouth bound, it speaks no more
your lies have scarred, tormented my soul
I have thrown thee far, from the light
that light which you once shrouded
shines brightly as the sun
my path is clear, the wounds are healing
the blackened scars, fused shut by flesh
the pain is gone, the wound forgotten
until beheld by eye
the wolf is gone, the pack diminished
must take time to restore its number
a new cub is born, to tread the earth
to pursue the frightened child
---------------
the coward, scarred by false mother's hand
bites at the heels of his silent lord
the master as long as he dogs his steps
a gnat to drain the giant
eyes are closed, ears yet deaf
to the wail of my quarry
it strikes the back, a fire kindles
to burn out his eyes, his maw grasps the throat
---------------
the foe dances before me, his sword is sheaved
I turn away, glitters brightly, flashing pain
a new scar to marr the heart, I cringe against it
I close my eyes
The wolf is such, could face me in light
prefers instead, a more amusing hunt
stays in shadows, nips at heels
I turn with flashing sword, to empty night
Fire and ice, creation's spark
the thorn I stick, I draw his blood
left to sleep, I cover him in fire
a flood of flame, to stir the dream
---------------
Anger comes, fills the heart
your words but fodder to the flame
ceased, the fire will burn no more
empty of sustenance the fire dies
Memory alone will not stir the fire
New scars must join those of former pains
Or the flame quickly dwindles and dies
It flickers in a breeze of calm
-------------
weary, heavy, slumbered long
the fire yearns to grow beyond
the wall of stone, its darkened prison
its light, not enough to fight the shadow
the sands cascade to aid its growth
a wall on every side
sinew stretched, the bone is aching
higher burns the urging flame
a wave of heat, a deafening roar
the walls confine me, a view of granite
blank, empty, smells of stagnance
I strike them, a rush of red
shows upon the hand
-------------
a plea is made, my lord listens
grim faced, his temper roused
when such things he hears
relief I ask, freedom from bonds,
fear has placed upon my heart
A vow made in the light of dusk
word is spoke, all is plunged into shadow
My folly in trust, the wolf's quarry
prey to night, the shadows ensnared me
-------------
stumbling blind, scarred and blackened
the beast in sorrow, missteps and falls
weeping in despair, eyes closed in pain
gentle hands lift him up
------------
Bond is broke, the light is lit
Sun spreads its fingers, cross the sky
the beast, long roaming, shuts its eyes
dreams its brooding dreams
harken child, thy eyes now open
called to wake, lift thy head
to stare into the empty sky
to fill them again with stars
thy father stands, waits patiently
grow strong, prosper, the beast is fettered
chained to earth, his heart a tatter
give it peace, with song and drink
how sweet the air, the maiden's scent
in leaven grove and oaken shadow
she dances to hidden pipe blown by hidden breeze
the light strikes thee, glimmers on brow
life returned, thy heart is healing
in night you sleep, she stirs your breath
a caress, the sweep of her hair
black it follows, her shadow cloak
in warm darkness left, moonlit shadow
her arms are warm, know thou peace
rest within the night
------------------
deep in grove, oaken splendor
stands the child, arms outstretched
the rays of light, cast by heaven's sun
break upon his face
the wind rustles, swirls about
the earth beneath his feet
the fire inside is fed the fodder
given by living leaf
-----------------
breaths of dew, settle on leaf
the wind dances, a silent step
tendrils of cool descend on the soul
many throng about thee
as you stand alone in silence
The cool of shadow, the rustle of leaf
my words are heard by lady and lord
she stands beside, a silent presence
her hand cool, its gentle caress
the pain is gone, a peace descends
a brush of wind, she holds me up
cloaked in green, crowned in leaves
white skinned, back against the tree
I lean against her, my head bowed in sorrow
slumber in bliss, she guards my rest
----------------
a circle of stone to curb the fire
may not pass, lest stone be moved
scorched are the stones by the fire's life
yet they stand a barrier to the blaze
most fetters broke, fenrir has reared
one chain to stay, to hold me back
look at the hand, torn and shred
gnawed by the wolf
----------------
the night is cold, among pebble and leaf
my bed of earth, I lay alone
her face hovers before the eye
closed in sleep's dominion
light in darkness
my lord listens
a judgement made, a game begun
darkhaired, a flower of the night
I look on her, savor the smell
blossoms fragrance perfumes her hair
she sleeps,
the rise and fall of her breast
stirs the winds in grove
----------------
a sadness, a doubt
my head hangs, rests in hands
cold and empty, my heart beats
a silent pulse
what holds the future
with another stand ?
rune shall I not rist
nor hand shall I raise
her feet to tread on their own
lift a hand, a blazing sign
her path could be brought
as easily to mine
but such would be darkness
on mine eyes and hers
her heart forced to slow
to match that of mine
would beat too softly to quicken the blood
her body a shell she would decay
not hand to raise, nor rune to rist
she shall come to me on her own
I think on emptiness
I know its face
its shadow fell, cast on my eyes
others feel, suffer and care
in the mantle given me by my lords
I shall be their comfort
cold is the candle
low burns the flame
no spark to light this utter darkness
no fuel to feed the fire
----------------
the path before, cloaked in shadow
shadow wrought by the hand of doubt
cold is night, black the darkness
To the shadow hold but a candles flame
a bough raises, a perilous step
stumble and fall, no hands to catch me
raise me up, set me forward
fall to ground, down but a moment
I saunter unsteadily forward
dark and pale, the face of love
a light in eyes, fire in shadow
she walks in light,
her hair as shadow follows
----------------
one shadow clothed in night
shed its silk, nude in darkness
flicking tongue of serpents maw
touches on the heart
an old light flickers
burning low, flame long extinguished
burning new, cold is night
chilling shadow,
her light to show the way
---------------
child of day, caught in night
emptiness thus is named
the strong edged words
flung against thy heart
reduced to naught but tatters
an empty womb barren of child
needles shredding, the skin is torn
alone would do no harm,
a cloud of such blades to tear the body
the flame brought closer to surface
shadows around, empty within
no star in sight
lost in night, a frightened child
torturer's face hooded by shadow
----------
a shining face, looking down
a cord wound round the wrist
standing beside a darkened form
her hand bound to him, never me
although my heart cries for her
around her hands, shining bright
a silver band to mark his bride
I step back to let them pass
Always treading, slender maiden
Within my dreams, within my mind
My thoughts never far removed
From her shining form
----------
this empty husk, half a man
the chill of cold, shivering form
hugs himself against the winter
that rages, within his heart
a tattered heart, black and scarred
his innards spilled upon the ground
stares at them, this quivering mass
his head in his hands, all alone in the night
-----------
the circle cast, the fire roars
four stars formed, the blazing sun
my lord behind me, silently stands
his light shines within me
I raise my arms, he does the same
silently embrace the other
where once stood two, is but one
an unsteady union, of light and shadow
loudly cry, the shadow parts
another lord stares down
his face ablaze
a light so bright, it blinds the eyes to look
before me lays a reddened note
a gesture made, by lord and serf
a whirlwind forms, how shine the signs
etched upon its surface
now opens the gate to lights domain
in answer rush the shadows
both collide, threaten to fall
all about me, a greyish light
I know not, if dawn or dusk's
------------
in shadows heard her gentle voice
her arms to twine about me
my silent tears, a flood of sorrow
we merge in our sadness
so close I stand, caress her her hair
in sleep her breast rises and falls
so softly coos, at my touch
how far we stand apart
the first light true
so kindled within
from love have reaped love
sown a seed, in sorrow lain
her soft lips pressed to mine
Raise my arms to draw her near
They fold only the night
An absence of form, a dew drowned mist
All I have of her
My arms they ache
To hold her close
The sound of her voice
The beat of her heart
as her blood rushes through
her life filled veins
my heart in answer beats
what road to walk, to find her
in danger lies, our lover's lock
the thieves of light
come from dark
would see it torn asunder
--------------
a gentle voice, in darkness speaks
the gentle coo, from gentle lips
her soft form, in pallor wrought
lays aside, speaks to me
Though she lay, leagues away
I hear her voice, in dark
her face aglow, in ghostly light
the shadows part before me
the call of love, in the deep of night
wrests me from sleep
The last rays of dusk, strike the clouds
a new lord has risen, throws out his cloak
woven of shadows, a black wrought cloth
covers the wanderer, who furtively steps
so stealthily treads, this mist covered world
plunged into dark's domain
As the curtain of night,
draws about, so darkens the world
I silently step, to find her laying
wrapped in a weave of soft worked cloth
that hides her soft form
bare and shivering, the first dews have set
her arms lay open, beckon in love
wrapped within them, and her in mine
we rock to the sound, of our ragged breathing
coming in gasps, as shadows we entwine the shadow
the shadows about, swallow the light of love
none may know, none may see
The night a friend, to tender lover always
a whisper, a caress, then lovers must part
to lay in wait, once more, their kiss still alive
on each others lips
---------------------
the fire flares
alight before me
I trace its form, its blue blazed shape
flickers before me, the elder script
a bargain with the fates
envision the steed, the flash of gold
all is done for her
torn apart, our lips silenced
left to suffer alone
the chill of night, I toss about
in dark can hear her voice
long for the warmth of her slender form
to end the biting cold
------------------
as loves been found, a subtle ray
in darkness open my eyes
how quickly warmed, my frozen limbs
as I grasp at its rays
walked far, following love
the path to its source, taken me far
many a foe, risen from dark
threatened to shroud its light
------------------------
as the darkness roils in the mind,
a sickly flame takes form,
love held down, hate set free
anger thrown off the bonds
I look at my peers, and bow my head
a griseled face, a deep born snarl
the wolf scarred them, left his taint
a stain upon their hearts
about again dance the shadows
gleeful in their rule
my lords have left, the bonds so cut
the shining blade of doubt
Long walked, a weary path
Ever shadowed by doubt
First the supplicant, then the ally
Fallen to lowly rebel
In night lay empty, My insides gone
I think of her form, yearn for her touch
Offered her arms, denied them thus
A shadowy form lays between us
Many a step lay between us, we weep at either side
Can feel the touch, though absent may be
The gentle caress of the other
Stand before her, stare onwards
Our only hope the sands
Long walked, to the light
Instead fell to dark
Lost in night, I wander still
My only companion the shadow
How hope has taunted
And love has scarred
The distance, the blade of absence
Twisted deeply, scarred my heart
Yet kept me from dying further
--------------------------
my lies, winds ahead, darkened, wrapped in gloom
the shadows lying before me part
no light I saw
I sat in wait
the mists unveiled their charge
two lights were lit, in pallor glowed
struck my blackened eyes
one stood near, a step away
the other far away
though I knew the path led far away
I stood beside the nearer
a shadowy hand, shackled its base
I strained to open its grip
could not bear, your shining form
must stand or move onward
the second light, set adrift,
its fires grow more brightly
ceased my quarrel, stared into its blaze
and basked in the warmth of the other
flee the approach lest I be burned ?
or writhe again in its flames ?
perish in bliss, or live in warmth
though my form lay aglow
my mind once more, is wreathed in the darkest shadow
-------------------------------
what dark has taken thee,
that you scorn the light ?
what false light shine's in shadow
my heart aches, as my veins empty
my wounds steam in winter
feel her touch, caress my form
all about is light
I stand a blackened, empty shadow
soon to be outshone
you stand far, leagues away
others stand before me
some are closer, their light shone brightly
pierced the night about
a new wrought form,
my contentment called
conjured up the night
my spirit broods, a selfish wraith
night held in reign
about me call a hundred voices
speaking in one word
each source lies scattered,
call my name, my ears have grown deaf
--------------------
the wages of those who seek but love
often found in hatred
all love found, far away
or stained black with blood
would lay in dark, let go my pains,
my hurts numbed by your touch
no comfort found, when the cold sets in
and your warmth is again absent
--------------------
all about the world grown still
the shadows froze in night
I see the eyes, still gleam in dark
all about is silent
stepping lightly, lest it stir
the ground beneath has frozen
the chill of winter fills my form
I shiver yet in night
for fear of fells
no hopes in the fall
I stare into the night
a tentative step, cringe at the sound
the creak of frozen earth
my lords at rest, brush has slown
the pen has ceased to scratch
the cold gave way, to unwelcome warmth
I know not the age's end
--------------------
about, with each stir in night
I leapt up from my sleep
a thousand voices, the air borne whispers
their grave found in the womb
wondering why I should know life
so used am I to death
why glimpse the light ?
it hurts my eyes
the sun an unwilling foe
cracked and broken, an empty shell
members formed of clay
a hollow husk, shaped by an artist
cruel in thought, his hands have scarred thee
a mirror before, reflects the scars
time has left, the dried and cracked
as each grain of sand, ate away
torn away your flesh
hollow and broken, your hand reaches out
to grasp at the glass, your fingers close
hollow and brittle, break and crack
a limb lost in longing, may never grasp again
-----------------------------
with each step taken, the path thus narrows
what choices have I left to make ?
that have not been made, increasing my woe
as time marched on, my tongue grew silent
a whisper among screams
how cruel life, tricks us, taunts us
we are forced into unhappiness
that which we would, should we dare
placed the farthest away
-------------------
a silvered surface, I stare at my face
in despair I cast it down
a ringing crash, sound in still borne air
a thousand faces stare back
about me lays, each piece of glass
I feel each set of eyes upon me
no peace is found, within or without
a war is waged in each
kneeling down, I gather them up
a stinging wound is opened
shake loose the fragment
the silvered surface, embedded in my hand
stare at the wound, as it pulses and flows
the hue darkened to black
each without, screams within
even when I shut my eyes, I can still feel them watching
and so I hide, bury my face
seek a comforting shoulder
in folly they trust me, hold me close
the beast within me surfaces
the black blood shed, mingles with red
the wages of trust, a wound
part of me cries, the other delights
I shiver against the cold
hating what laughs, what lies within
driven me onwards, mastered the master
do I hold it down, or does it grasp me
withing I can hear it whisper
----------------
ever onwards, not a step behind
I cannot retrace my step
would I return, to how it once was ?
what price would I pay ?
I've always been hated, each set of eyes
gave a piercing, stoic gaze
pierced the flesh, breached the walls
of my blackened, pulsing heart
grasped at the wound, as the blood flowed out
lungs devoid of air
gasping I fell, my fingers stained red
could not stop the flow
each day my body lighter
as my heart flutters, begins to die
each step taken more slowly
let the eyes all close, or be torn out
their scrutiny consigned to flame
--------------------------
each day I step, seek my end, my path grows but longer
with each new yearning beget by sadness
my step grown more heavy
to slow my step and wait in dark,
my longings would remain
no rest is found for the tired heart
longing to cease its beat
-----------------------------------
The forest's yield
The light, strikes with piercing rays
It rays, they strike on barren bone
Without substance, without flesh
Bleached and stark against the sun
Tendons broken, muscle gone
Its jaw chatters, words none shall ever here
The wind picks up, The skeleton, its knees buckling
it falls to ground
Swiftly move the dusts to cover them. Forgotten, covered in
broken dreams. Sightless eyes staring at thankless clouds, blown
by thankless winds.
Empty and barren, forgotten in a sea of sands, they lie unseen
and turn to dust. Kindred come borne by their own winds, just as
thankless, brothers lain by brothers.
Winds come in night and day, they herald cloud or piercing light.
Dust they bear, not a grain conspicuous. Dropped it lies
untouched.
The winds touch these grains again, borne swiftly they strike the
stone. Scarred and crumbling, a million grains to drag it down,
none remembered, all forgotten, the whole important: it is the
cloud, the grain indiscernible from the rest.
The fire now touches ground,
The forest sways in its wake
The roots of life, embedded in sand,
they cling to their maker. at last they join the
grains again, scorched by flame they lie at rest. Seeds take root
and grow again, again they burn to ground.
Greater bough and thickened leaves
Leaves thickened by fire's caress
They grow untouched, for a time
Oblivious to the fire's life, they stand
triumphant amongst the flame, the wind soon stirs again,
it caress of love to grin of hate, it drags its lover down.
The tree dragged to forest floor, with a clap of thunder it
hits the ground, buried by the sands of time, its seeds grow
again.
Ellis Song(from the last unicorn)
What is plucked will grow again
What is slain lives on
What is stolen will remain---
What is gone is gone
What is seaborne dies on land
Soft is trod upon
What is given burns the hand---
What is gone is gone
Here is there, and high is low
All may be undone
What is true no two men know---
What is gone is gone
Who has choices need not chose
We must, who have none
We can love but what we lose---
What is gone is gone
---- additional verses by F.H.
Brightly burns the candles flame
Doused by sorrows song
Coveted much, lost it maims---
What is gone is gone
Field of dreams we plow and sew
Dies before the dawn
Its light to shine on but a few---
What is gone is gone
Ymir's Legacy
empty void, cold and cruel
stand within, my sight is nothing
cold and dark
its king is shadow
a night eternal without dawn
ruled always by dusk
a song is heard in the darkness
faintly sung, I listen closely
quiet at first it grows in pitch
light extends from its source
day at last is borne
I see a plain, hoary ice
cold and barren, the song still sung
from barren ice formed barren heart
a monstrous form, raises up
the first has come
the first has quickened
loathsome in form
loathsome in thought
gnarled, his eyes black
to match his heart
a second form, hooves shod in iron
eternal spring, the mother of life
fire to warm the wind burned hand
mother's milk, grown of salt
a third form congeals
born of ice, cold and barren
fostered by the second
up now stands the first born
rushes forward, fire in eyes
of jealousy born this needless quarrel
none know, except that this day the world
was shook, a mighty tremor
sons of Bur rise from slumber
smite the giant, born of ice
with fire forge, the halls of heaven
the earth of bone, heavens skull
the trees to grow of silken strand
blood to form the ever rolling sea
Bur is hefted high to pyre
cast into the sea
Odin high, oldest son
wise in runes, arise now asgard
of gold formed tools
an altar raised, in respect of the song
more softly words speaking now
the light begins to die
born to die
began to end
the body decays
withers slowly
the world is gone away
Fear
I walk alone in darkness
The stars extinguished by doubt
The torches flame flutters
In a wind carrying ordeal
Come tearing out of night
Paws striking stone and grain
Eyes gleaming in the dark
I take to flight, terrors quarry
The huff of breath coming quickly
The glint of eyes, fire in shadow
The dark form in pursuit gaining,
ever nearing, come yet closer
a tear comes, I know what waits
wearied, the breath comes hard
eyes in the dark
wreathed with fire
ominous shining bright
smoldering coals hewn of opal
Their promise dark, alight with violence
a bough raises from the earth
I stumble, falling hard to ground
a cry of delight, a roar of triumph
yellow blades bearing down
The Maelstrom
Stepping onward, footprints in the sand to match my stride
To guide my foot, lest it fall, into chasm or pit
A wind stirs raising gale, the travelers eyes open, watching the
footprints silently
His path changes, so does his stride
From the course of light, he treads to shadow
The wind pushing us into night, we follow the path
lain before us.
From node to node our step quickened by the wind
Slugglishy we stumble on, caught as highwaymen on the trail
To steal and maim, raising the axe, our own executioner
From a word to a word, to daggers shining blade
Our wounds innumerable --forgotten-- as new passions take hold.
Precious blood to leave a trail, for the wolf to follow
one day it overtakes us, dragged to ground, our cry answered by
fellow traveler, his cry but quickens the pace of his member of
the pack. Our friend on these barren plains must hasten along,
mournfully he turns his back, listens helplessly to our cries,
our reddened hand held to him, can not be taken, it falls to the
barrens dust.
The Shadow
I walk alone on the plains
My companions dead to the world
Lain beside their fallen causes
Broken among their broken dreams
The crosses shadow falls on me
All day has become night
Pleasure to pain
Clearness to obscurity
A cloud of self-denial
Blackened hands fasten the straps
Securing my burden, they tighten the bonds
These fetters of fallacy to which I am bound
The chains, linked by fear
Walking beside me, my brethren, cry
A sorrow silent, but understood
Enslaved by doubt, by the crosses arms
Tormented by our ignorance
The Leaf's Shimmer
A breeze gently stirs the leaf
A mist, cool, brushes skin
A swirling cloud of endless colors
Traveler on the path
The touch of leaf as I walk
The trees stand, mighty kings
Support the sky, their fingers stretch
To the never ending sky
The grain of sand beneath the feet
A silent hush, all noise deceased
Birds fan their wings over brood
Shielding their eyes from the sun
a node to node all paths fork
the branches gnarled or smooth as silk
diseased and barren, sun scorched and dry
or bearing fruit and leaf
man finds in the forest what is left behind
when trekking on the plains
A sense of peace, though peril lie
behind sapling fair
no purpose lies, empty and meaningless
for man to waste his only life
in pursuit of dreams, woven of fallacy
forged by the blackened mass
walking slowly, no destined patch
empty of pain, vibrant with joy
circles of trees knowingly whisper
of the strangers broken heart
in peace you come, in peace you remain
malice is paid by malice
no malignance granted to the evil heart
that beats in the breast of man
oft man can not live in peace
returns to fester in societies decay
to breathe of air black, and empty
to die a weary death
the dagger of word to pierce the heart
mans only salvation, to wield the sword
to die regretfully, having wasted his life
on empty morales and broken dreams
our folly in society found
weak while alone
our nature is such, it leads us to death
under a banner having no cause

The wandering light
Days are come and gone
The wheel rolls cross the sky
Golden lances of warming life
Descend upon the earth
To green the leaf and stir the blood
Dew-frozen, the back is warmed
On a bed of leaves I open my eyes
To days full glory
Leaf and bud, green and shining
Life begetting life
As the sun lifts high
The steed pushes onward
light recedes into night
hail to the charioteer
sister of sun
the warming fire
to cooling night
shadows fall
thy wondrous sword
outlines the mighty kings
the rustle of leaf the sound of night
the world in cooling shadow
the trees sighing in the wind
boughed backs creak wearily
kings and lords
begin their dance
the lute to celebrate the shadow
silken shod they sway in night
when mortal men sleep
riding high, brynhild's kin
swan-feathered, free from men's warring
delight in the cool wind, offered by shadow
arc through the night
dark robed and grim
can be seen, the endless wanderer
watches man's affairs
clicking silently, the earth's stones
against travel worn feet
a staff carried, holds the burden
laid on back by centuries toil
wights flee at his approach
lest to his legions be added
glances at me as he walks onward
a nod, a bow to him
tis wise to honor the grey hearted god
his strength supports us all
kindred come from rainbow fair
heavily burdened, armor clanking
another walks to hearth hallowed
to here honor's word
lest it be broken
I pause in night to watch him pass
to him raise my hand
a general great, deserves his tribute,
he raises his hand to defend us
others come, not so welcome
cloaked in shadow, light in feet
a forked tongue, half truths he speaks
etin's god, Odin's ward
walks past, lies within
his blood, I fear, fills me
the shadows part, the sun lifts high
the moon retreats from dawn
a shining form
hail to thee
comfort bringer, lord of light
embraces all, lord of laughter
light upon his brow
light voice, raised in joy
mead given him can hardly be wasted
a sudden sorrow clouds the sky
sealer of pacts, gave of himself
for the worlds sake, gave his own
fettered the bane of Odin
the robes of justice suit his back
though steel and stone he bear
speaker of truths, downer of foes
he walks alone with his sorrow
cometh now njorth's heir
golden armor to match his heart
salvation given for loves sweet smile
his bride golden, a prancing doe
her angels voice to calm the heart
the rays of sun shine upon me
the dews settle before the sun
a bed of leaves to lay in light
sleep's calling,
a dream of the sun's return
Fire
Dancing form, chaos embodied
a beacon to those in night
warmth and love, heat and hate
pain to touch, pleasure to watch
anger lies within its threshold
the deluge to cool the flame
beginning and end, tool of fates
held down it can warm the bone
released it can set you free
stern warrior holding steel
protector to some
destroyer to others
he pushes on his flock
Earth
the powers of stagnance
found in thee
stone and grain
dust and sand
fire scorched thee,
as the silent flood carried your ashes onwards
the wind lifts you, white wings that stir your quiet spirit
cold and quiet
the smell of death
a strong pillar supporting
a column of light
bearing children to hold the sky
her face expressionless, her eyes emptiness
the chill of night is her garment
Water
swirling flood, wind's daughter
reflection and thought
dream's gift
waters of time, flowing onward
dark and dank
clear and bright
trusted is the death of man
coerced is the shield of fallacy
called to in sorrow shook
cooling waters to ease the flame
fire dies at my touch
I balance the wind with my eyes
pillars of strength, pillars of mercy
look into me and see yourself
turn your back and you shroud the light
cool my touch, renews the your empty core
Air
journeymen, sage, unrestful in my toil
my home the trail, my heart the scroll
look into my face
you see yourself
hold my hand and see what you may become
light in the dark
torchbearer, and muse
I hold scepter,
to far seeing mage
embrace me and travel far
easily stirred by travels call
I journey far in higher circles
stern father I dote on discipline
caring mother I hold you up
set your feet on the path
Spirit
My voice is all you know
It is your foundation, cloaked in shadow
you hide from my face, but I always find you
when the darkness shrouds you
I lift you to the light
A sheltering wing to shield you from the rain
A fiery sword to pierce your mind's darkness
To lift the shadow, to throw the fetter
Feel my hand upon your shoulder
Though my face you shall most certainly never see
Serpent's Quarry
Icy fingers gently caressing
the dormant earth
conveys its form
light strikes revealing grain
and clouded sky
Rippled by the slightest wind
rolling onward for all of time
changes course at the slightest pebble
thrown by idle hand
rivulets of rain, through a forest
vast and wide, pristine and pure
mans life is such while untouched
by the subtil words of serpent's tongue
coiled basking in the sun
our footsteps heard but much ignored
we step left, our path mis-traveled
it strikes at the slightest wrong
walk silently your wits about you
look always ahead on the path
fear comes from what is left behind
forgotten it lies coiled
A promise wrought of serpent's tongue
a light cast from the brow
a star made dull by such light
the rays strike shadow
darkness retreats
dawn breaks, all is empty
bodies strewn upon the ground
a mound of death, the mark of hate
a serpent twisting through the hill
its forked tongue the cause
white as doe in the field
man may find peace with man
lest society rule one wrong
unpopular, anger stirred by fallacy's words
they are swiftly become wolves
a scarred face, torn and ravaged
the blackened claw has left its mark
a taint left, a bitter taste
his pain begetting pain
clothed in shadow, bereaved of light
they know not what fiends await them
what faces leer, cruelly plot
dissembling by the candles flame
clothed in white, a brilliant star
its center emptiness, it feeds on loss
offers life, offers peace
instead it deals us death
clothed in white to cover shadow
their pain is hidden, for a time forgotten
the sufferer, scarred, lost in the dark
has now become the light
seducer foul, your light is such
it leaves the traveler to night
the path is worn, the traveler weary
the lantern, though casting back the shadows
gives promise born of serpent's tongue
Prejudice
The darkness swirls, a mist of mind
the eyes it blinds, the foot it sways
clouding those simple truths
all so claim to grasp
the fire now rushes forth
its crimson form sheds no light
the black remains upon the heart
a shroud upon the light
the darkness rears in night or day
it bears its teeth, we call them hate
it strikes at those who join it not
its convictions show no mercy
the light presses against the dark
it shines through, breaking dawn
those lives threatened are now saved
though life has passed from their eyes
the fire dead or so it seemed
blazes again burning new
those who once kindled it
are now become its fuel
on it burns never ending
it dies only to be reborn
never satisfied it rages on
spreading to all it touches
The eyes of hate
A plain pristine
darkness's taint, far away
formed of light, alive with joy
brightly blazes a happy sun
over a land never to know night
a shard of glass lifts up high
the blazing sun beams yet harder
the growth of old, withers and dies
a raging fire, untouched by deluge
a cloudless sky, red with wrath
wrought by the fire's touch
transparent and formless
the villain is not yet known
another comes, enfolded by darkness
calms the fires, keeps a spark
to bring forth fire, should his tyranny be challenged
to strike against the sun
holding a light, a false wrought sun
another hand holding shadow
offers light, gives us night
a death of mind, the shadow engulfs us
no longer see with the eyes given us
our thoughts controlled by the promise of night
fire holds us, a wall of death none shall pass
pain is dealt to those who try,
burned and maimed shunned by all
sinew torn, bone exposed
crippled by torments wrought by shadow
clinging to our eyes
wandering now, on a path of darkness
eyes darkened by fire's kiss
stumbling forward, left to burn
writhing for the glory of shadow's name
we shall never again see the sun
Lies to kindle the fire
A child pure, white in spirit
A maiden fair, clothed in white
skies empty, tranquil and clear
a calm descends, the leaf flutters
the horizon dark, a fire stirs
hold thy hand to the light
cut by the dagger of word
cast down into the dark
cries muffled, by the fire's roar
a cloud of shadow descends
wrought of pain and broken dreams
it stands between the child and joy
casts demons into night
but shrouds the child's eyes
fire is kindled, the son of fury
a mask of iron, the guise of hate
your lies are daggers, cutting deeply
they scar the empty heart
a time of peace, the sands are falling
a boulder's crash, as each one drops
the serpent's head rears in day
shrouding the sun's gentle rays
you poison, slowly, the tattered heart
the blaze is again rekindled
I wait in light, your lie festering
fetter's the foot to hardened stone
Fenris kin, I stand, enraged
your voice withered the ear
lift the veil, know thou peace ?
I'll burn you, leave you
to suffer in flame
your empty words, my pain's source
one word for me to free you
one word to kill the pain
Lift the shadow, speak not in night
I have lifted not one hand against you
So shall it remain
fear not the sword, the fire's edge
I remind you of the broken dreams,
shattered by your lies
The night's promise
The night has come
The shadows lengthen
tossing fitfully
all fears of day
come to life in night
stand in silence, spine a pillar
of the hardest stone I stand, defiant
my dreams are dark, my eyes are resting
the shadow rules, the fire blazes
a cloud of shadow
silhouettes my form
ever moving, watches silently
my eyes are closed, no light to strike them
the cares of the day, fade away
weary in day, weary in night
the chains weigh heavy
the lock is hard
such as may never be broken
a slave made by society
I walk in a line of darkened men
chained together, none yet free
to some the chains could be wrought of silver
to slavery they are well suited
knees are buckling, hands are shackled
none can lighten my burden
carry there own, given at birth
by the shadowy father
from which we share descent
I stumble along
my eyes closed as in night
the day is long, the sun is burning
I carry my burden, I trudge in despair
my ears deafened by my bond brother's wail
to break the chain is death
a chasm lies to both sides of the line
to turn from the path laid before us
will surely cause a fall
our brethren dark in soul
light in mind, our back is open
to dagger's thrust, should we so trust
in the divine nature, of our fettered brother
to speak of peace, to live in love
a dream, a hope, never known
we pray to this god, never knowing
if his face is but the dullard's fancy
we trudge along, our road is hard
if we fall, we are a leaf of grass
trod upon, smashed by hoof
our spirit crushed, we soon know death
Dreams, hopes, the serpent's eyes
The winds of time swirl about
The padded paws have ceased their step
I stop and listen, hearing nothing,
I kneel beside a brook
waters pure, pristine and cool
glide smoothly down the throat
I trust in sight, they bear no taint,
no poison to blacken the soul
restful, calm, I settle down
on grass made green by river's touch, my thought's distant,
plunged into nostalgia, I think on the past, I puzzle the path
Scarred by the claw
Rent by the knife
The word has left its scar
struggled with both wolf and man
fire and heat, I have felt the cooling stone
I close my eyes, trust the silence
I drop into shadow
A sound, I start, raise my eyes, the sky is troubled
a swirling mist, the leaves whisper, though I stand in doubt
they know what travels their domain, the waters have darkened to
black
I glance into the water's depths, my face, calm, stares back, a
life that should not be there, the eye's are blazing fire, yellow
luminous, a fire kindles, glow brightly, burn into me, the face
has darkened, the shadow emerged, thorns of hate, a shroud of
black, I step back, begin to flee, a hand bursts forth, gnarled,
and clawed, grasps me, drags me, pulls me down, at first a ripple
then a flood, my chest is filled with fire
I gasp for air, the eyes are blazing, the maw closes, skin is
shred, upon my shoulder, the claw is grasping, black, it digs
into the skin, my eyes are falling, the darkness closes, I sink
down, dragged down, a howl of delight
A face congeals, the mists of memory, a plead for help, my heart
is stirred, sluggish beat quickens, new blood floods the barren
vein, a fire forms, rushes forth, circles my form, the wolf is
screaming, he struggles for freedom, I hold him close, my love
for him, I embrace him to fire, a cry of rage, he screams in
pain, his form blackened, he tears away, his claw raised, he
strikes me hard, a wound long closed, torn to bleed again, it
lengthens, flash of red, taste of salt, my foe has fled, I break
the surface
The sky is red, no sun yet blazes, I take to flight upon the
path, to shadow's solace, the oaken stronghold, in frenzy hear,
the sound of paw, pounding upon grain
The barrens
The child's eyes, shut to day
Wanders blankly, portal to portal
Taunted, pricked by the blind
they walk the path beside
from constant pain, his eyes forced open
his foes have turned to shadow
blown by winds, cold and empty
the dust is pulled, far from sight
eyes grow heavy, sleep is calling
the eyes close, the pain begins
The years have passed, the child grown
a man walks, on dusty path
the field is barren, crop has blackened
devoid of rain, the fires stir
his face is darkened, masked by fury
the pain in his eyes, a shadow of torment
violently swirling, this cloud of knives
the man writhes, a familiar rhythm
a flash of red, he lies forgotten
an elder walks, back boughed and broken
his eyes are empty, his life was shaded
by angers call, and sorrows song
the strike of paws, he walks onward
no longer cares he ignores the sound
of death's approach, it matters not
his path continues, twists each way
his feet are weary, bloodied and soiled
his garment faded, eyes blazing,
the wolf overtakes him, he quickly turns to dust
A fortress of leaf, the fires ward
speak now, thy voice is alone,
a single sound within the silence
my voice is heard, a roll of thunder
the cry of pain, a shadow descends
the mournful howl, the shadow I cast
the wolf's form, even in the darkest
his eyes are ever blazing
my words unveiled, you shall know much
be thou friend or foe, I will have you know
my night flooded, the light of truth, to pierce
the desolate shadow
thy hearth warm, you have known others
the cool maidens touch, the warmth of the blaze
a world of light, not a shadow cast, by the sun
of your day
I speak of night, a shadow to shroud me
haunted by wraiths, caught in dark
my words, are heard, you live in day
you have never seen the night
speak of joy, your words are sorrow
my ears are pained to listen
much strength I possess, I stand alone
in weakness is joy, among the masses
speak of life, speak of light
my world is shadow, to know joy
is to forget
I am but a trifle, my shadow but a
passing fancy, your light is drawn
you add but more dark to night
the others would not be so quick to judge
if they knew what waits for them in their's
I see their night, I live it daily
their pain forgotten, they have found means around it
a plague of the mind, they carry the torch
that sets ablaze the threshold of peace
the wolf is pressing, my time is held
by iron fist, ever tightening
to hide within the wood, nature's maiden to come
I have felt the touch of her beauty
held me in night, she has kept me alive
the pain melts away, such is her gift
I wait for another, possesing her life
to walk with me in glen
Thurisaz - Isa - Jera - Soweilou
Thou slathering wolf, thy maw be closed
I tie it shut, this gaping death
Yellow eyes that shine in night
Fall thy lids, thy sight is gone
In thy hand, see the needle, pierce the lid, a rush of red
I sew them shut, thy eyes are blind to the light
that light you so wish to devour, that you so wish to douse
Neither deluge, nor grinning maw shall touch it
I burn you, I scar you
Cast back into shadow, reeling from the shock
thy own truth has thrown you
the fire of my wrath has burned you
only the cold of shadow to house you
I cut the bond, exiled by pain
that you have so wrought
Love's Hope
cold in shadow
lost in night
no dawn to part the dark
stumble upon rocky earth
no path to show you mercy
thankless, empty, sink to ground
malice taken root and grown
a wall before, bud has sprouted to leaf
strewn on ground
I cry in darkness
my sleep deep
I lie in wait
cold and aching
no longer care
love has left thee
love has died
heart empty, a tattered mass
a voice picks up
a whispering song
eyes closed to the world
flutter open, forced to look
as a sliver of light strikes the brow
a vision floods you, dark haired and fair
warm, alive, close enough to touch
reach out thy hand to draw her in,
she turns to dust and flitting shadow
love is light, also darkness
call to it, it drags you down
can not speak, lest eyes be blinded
closed forever to the light
closer she stands, her arms about you
bury your head, the tears come flowing
warmth floods you, her pulse, her heart
sets the rhythm of the sands
in darkness dream of her touch
a kiss, a thankful comfort
shall you ever know ?
what secrets lay housed within
her breast, the sorrows and the joy
caress her hair, the curve of her lips
they speak your name or that of others
tears your heart to look on her, held by another
sleeps within the dark of night
the winds stirred by her breath
her breast rising and falling
to the gentle beat of your heart
hands upon your shoulders
grasp thyself to ward the cold
your lonely life, cry in dusk
the sun has set,
take to flight, her form runs in the distance
covered in shadow
the cold of night
the bite of dusk
the sun has set
I walk alone in silence
futile my cries, long since ceased
Care has left, hope died
Silently step, an empty lord
below the leaf and brooding sky
filled with stars, the flicker of hope
I raise my hand, to touch the air
dimly flicker, soon they die
a moonless night, all is darkness
lay in leaf, thy only comfort
hug thyself against the cold
empty thy bed, your only companion
the cold blown wind, just as empty
a touch of hand, thy lady watches
a mother's comfort, understands her child
asleep in night, by moonlight watched
her pain stricken brood, cold in heart
all hope inside, has withered and died
much the same her mighty sons
forced to sleep, bereft of their mother
many a day, in eternal night,
their tears are much as mine
lay in dark, her saddened smile
only dulls, pains icy touch
day has come, the warming sun
though all around is light
these dew frozen limbs, still house the winter
the dove cries its mournful song,
not knowing what pains it brethren feel,
perched up high, it vaguely notices
the blackened form, on forest floor
cloaked in shadow, robed in black
a silent agony marrs his face
huddled a heap, hands on head
rocks gently to the tune, suffering plays
teeth clenched tightly, the ringing screech
his face contorted by woe
what is thy face, prowling demon
thy mask is known, invaded my dreams
cold thy touch, thy blade has scarred me
laying in night, took all that was offered
a cold hand upon the pulse, a cut upon the heart
walk silently the tears streaming
crown is broken, the throne is cold
an empty seat, sits beside
thy kingdom scattered, thy greatest prize
these diamonds cast to ground
lay in grove, the oak supports you
sleep within the night
A new light
Hail to the host, a new light is kindled
the night parts for but an instant
cold and cruel, an empty hearth
the fire blazes on
from the moment kindled
threatened with cap
oiled wick, ablaze in blue
burns ever closer,
inch by inch, its death grows yet closer
above its kingdom, its molten prize,
it flickers free, ablaze in glory
the chill of shadow, a wind is stirred
the fire flares and dies
walk alone, a frightened child,
thy sires turned, from shepherd to sheep,
the hand of thy master, gnarled and torn,
from within his robes, blaze the eyes of the wolf
beaten by staff, forced to crawl,
the child walks a darkened path,
all about the world is light,
the child cloaked only in shadow,
the mercy of staff and hardened switch,
stumbles on, his life in darkness
he walks upon the path
lost in night, the glimmer of light
the sheep are sheared of their hide,
shiver in day the chill of dawn,
look in hope to their silent shepherd,
the stench of death, a ghastly grin,
one more herd upon the plains,
relieved of the burden of heavy hide,
run in joy, thy task is done
all about the skies are dark,
brooding clouds, all is night,
two pinpricks of light shine in shadow,
the shepherd cast his cloak to ground,
whitened teeth, the pound of paw,
the growl of thunder and fur ridden throat
a flash of light, his gift of steel,
a twinge of pain, thy flock is screaming
the warmth it flows, stains red the hide,
flesh is rent, a sudden fatigue, crumpled to ground
you lay listening, the final sounds, of your life long journey
all is silence, save the roll of thunder, the flock has died
you lay back, the howl of wolves
the storm has come
The automaton
Some lights are kindled, quickly burn down
The tender makes warm the hearth
a light takes form, slowly congeals, a sulfurous cloud,
a fire blazes, the shadows bow to the gift of life
From kindling set in place on torch, Flickers in the breeze
lights the way, Threatened by wave,
Blazes high, encircled by shadow, the ground around
concealed by night
Raised up by shadowy hands
Shaped and formed, set in stone
the fire blazes within this womb
an automaton to bear its blaze
Cold the stone to wayfarers touch
hard its hands when raised in violence
A placid surface, a secret smile
to mask the fire within
Stone laden feet march in step
to the tune lain by whip and hardened switch
hateful words to ring within,
this stony cavern, grey in heart
from birth a struggle to hold the fire
lest it come to surface
The path is cold, an empty sky, an empty night
no star to break the light of hope,
casing forged of harder stone, the glint of steal
and glass-cased eyes, a circle of light shows the way,
a dark fold upon his eyes, walks alone in sorrow
Brother bound, wrought by metal of common forge
walks in step, beside you marches
to the tune of heel striking stone
ticks away the time, the sands become knives, cut the bond
thy glassy eyed brother sees the danger,
to late his hand raised to catch the remaining shreds
as they are finally sawn through, without a thought his
tracks are covered, the sands drag him under
covered, flailing, buried alive, you search in vain
glassy eyes staring, not a sign, the path is gone
the clouds congealed from utter darkness, the storm descended
the wind picks up, lost in night, thrown to chaos
the storm strips you of the steel, once so hard, thought
unbreakable, split through and scarred
The time has come to rest in night,
lay in shadow, gaze at star
the star grown black, a hole in night
the sound of paws striking earth
the pack sired a cub
eyes are closed, a silent dream
behind him form, blazing fires
hover in shadow, staring behind
yellow eyes staring from shadow
hover in a body formed of mist
hands grasp, blackened nails breaking skin
you huddle, a mass, screaming in pain
the wolf gnawing at tendon, claws rending flesh
the fire rages, comes to surface, a roll of thunder
the wolf struck down, by heaven's fiery sword
arcing to meet the foe, struck away into night
takes one last swing, the fire struck, flickers out
retreats back into its shell, the wolf is screaming
cast to night, its form reduced to ashes
a false light set within the heart
love's light shed from golden brow
take to flight, the farther ran
the farther distant
love's hope tortured thee
love's hope has died
scarred the heart, marred the face
pursued in night, lost thy way
the path is gone, left in night
stitch thy heart closed once more
the tears still wet the eyes
before lies the lords domain
walking through a wilderness
thick in shadow
their light barely visible
above the glare of flames
and shadows cloud
a hundred leagues away
Man's winter
What happiness lies within,
this world so soaked with blood ?
A reddened mural, the sorrow of man
Played out by the brush of life
So carefully scrawled upon a canvas
Forged of broken dreams.
From the moment born, doomed to die
Thy flailings futile, your lot in life
Bound to each other, as slaves to market
The world to beat us down.
Our lives in shadow,
We walk in night,
One never perceiving the other
The more we try, our life is spent
A cut upon our hearts
Desperate from cold, we search for warmth
A saddened smile, a trusting heart
We raise our eyes to look on light
Instead see only darkness
Our hopes die down, such precious sparks
Lit by life, they burn away,
A breeze stirred by doubt, by endless sorrow
They are quickly forced to die
Our thoughts of love, turn to sorrow
The hand once raised, in trusting folly
Is cut and rent to shreds,
Another scar to mark the traveler
The path brought closer to end
Raise your eyes to the heaven,
Thy gods are cloaked in doubt,
The stars that shine, too far to reach
Their light is always cold,
Defeated we huddle, in the shadow of loss
Our sires, once thought so strong,
Have died, defeated by the sands
Their lifelong journey, made no mark
Upon the desert they wandered
A wound of love
A reddish light plays on the eyes
an old scar to bleed anew
cruel the word, cold the steel
as it spreads wide the flesh
a flash of red, the blood streams down
it drips unnoticed to ground
such warmth released, the seeds of passion
from the touch of lover's caress
let by steel, becomes the seeds of wrath
to sway as flame, in the earth
burst forth a pillar, so wrought of flame
taken seed in wrong
the fire discerns no earthly form
a serpent's voice, no different from love's
so you feared, took to flight
believed my love was wrath
how quickly died the fire's blaze
as fear drove you to flight
forget the past, forget the wounds
caused by false lover's stroke
a caress, a kiss, a whisper of love
no hurt to ebb from me
only hurt can be caused me
I will never lift a hand, nor shining blade
to ever do you wrong
Absence
The coldest night, named is absence
plies with the fears, of the child's mind
cast into dark, the shadows about
scream for form, cry out for life
they open their eyes
step their first steps
emptiness their womb, its blackness their sire
it fosters them forth, stirs their breath
the void given form, a spiraling dagger
it burrows into the heart
Run within a grey clad world
lost in winter, you huddle for warmth
seek thy warmth, a flame held aloft
lit by hope, extinguished by doubt
so quickly it dies, so quickly rekindled
the cold of your loss, bites at the hands
what is grasped is gone, lifted by winds
set down in distance
The farther walked, the farther found
that the distance has grown, the closer we come
thrown backward by winds, ever grasping her hand
she is thrown so much farther
To each other call, but a step yet distant
in night yet tread, so deep in shadow
so close we walk, so far away
so far the night, might yet last forever
the day's soft light, a fanciful dream
a thousand years to dawning
The dance of Hell's fire
In the night, borne a lonely child
His only light, that subtle spark
Took to flame within his eyes, encroached upon by cold
Silently steps, he walks in quiet
his footsteps echo, in the emptiness of night
the cold so harsh, he hugs himself
A bitter embrace, nearly as cold
as the threatening shadow, that about him swirls
a darkened cloud of night
the cold intense, his jaw a chatter
the horrendous creak, of dew frozen tendon
the fire flares and dies
walk alone, thy arms are aching
an empty bed, in which to lay
hug yourself against the cold, the fire once dispersed
thy cloak wrapped tightly, against the skin
a woolen shroud, of hopeless dreams
two pinpricks of light, so ominously set
above a slathering jaw
your only friend, this griseled wolf
his jaw agape, it drips with the blood
his former hunts, the helpless sheep
he ever hunted down
close your eyes, to shiver in shadow
on his haunches sits and waits
for the cold is his sire
his only friend
its chilling touch, to him yet welcome
it extends its hands, its gnarled fingers
to grasp upon your heart
a fire struck, how loudly roars
a dark clad maiden, wreathed in fire, she touches ground
so silently steps, while all around
roars the flame
rekindles the spark, so long died down
within your broken body
the wolf rushes forward, its ghastly grin
become a hateful snarl
its eyes ablaze, in bloodlust burn
it rushes for her throat
raise yourself up, ablaze with rage
a flash of steel, its lays there dying
as its blood pours out, so stains the ground
the fire grows within
about you cold, burn the fires of hell
so cold they sting, and wither the flesh
you dance to its roar, a tortured step
grasping ever her hand
so tightly held its fragile form, within your loving grip
the sands of time, stoking hell's fire
move swiftly to swallow you, must ever climb
this mountain wrought by times advance
one false step made, to cause the fall
in shadow lay, writhe in her fire
the flames to twine, to ever merge
eyes ablaze, the fires lick
a grin, death so darkly sweet
her lips pressed against thy wrist
how rushes the river, your flowing life
to meet her eager lips
close your eyes, you hear her heart
beating steadily against yours
how sweet is life, ever caught in dying
how warm the fires of hell
a thoughtful friend, never far removed
it burns within us all
hold her close, support her form
so softly pressed to yours
if this is hell, then let us burn
forever in each others arms
My lonely child
In the deepest night, thrown to dark
my love, never known the light ?
how bitter the joys, rent your flesh
and left you alone to bleed
ever heard the words of love, spoken by serpents mouth
have ever lain within their loving arms, basked in the light of love
only to have their gentle caress, turn to a scornful stroke
left in night, with an empty heart
have all thy lover's left ?
love has lied, and ever scarred
your soft and gentle arms
left in shadow, not a hand of comfort
that never turns to violence
in the deepest night, I heard you crying
as I walked along the path
I know your tears, long since dried
as the love within me died
my heart so scarred, in fire in torment shook
it burnt to the deepest black
dead, a mass, it pushed no life
I slowly began to die
then heard your voice, call out in love
I drank deeply of your tears
so salty sweet, a bitter brew
I have so grown to love
about you fold, my loving arms
as deeply scarred as yours
a new life stirs, and again the blood
pulses through my veins, I will never leave
or falsely step, lest your heart so wish
I grasp your hand, in love now bound
I will guide you through the night
The Fall
The spark so struck, lights all in brilliance
First intense, then softly shone
no dark to daunt, the weary eye
shadow not yet cast
Heaven's assembly stood in rows
the first one's voice, so loudly sung
spoke of wonders, a light filled realm
never to know dark
Raise a hand, the brooding mists
would so dash away
the first light shone, rightly set
in the earth's empty hearth
A second hand raised, to steady his stroke
a child's raised in answer, an angry word
a troubled heart
the first night's shadow, alive in his eyes
the father's hand, stayed in its work
the host so thrown to turmoil
From the first breath quickened
served my own, served my lords
lords in light, lords in dark
so brightly shown, their righteous brows
how shadow-shorn their faces
so lost in night, no light of comfort
save the first one's work, imperfectly wrought
from portal to portal
and crossing of swords
a fell wind raised, from fathomless depths
ever prodded me forward
the darkness congealed, an inky black
sought to douse the light
the first one grasped, his eyes so blinded
his children caught, in deadly feud
were cast with each other to dark
some caught in dark, meant for light
forced to fall with their brethren
my wings so beat to carry me upwards
were scarred and torn
left lame, left flightless
my eyes torn out by dark
my fellows gone from two to four
a griseled face, a velvet mane
I took once more to flight
my eyes yet blind, my kindred's gift
I cried in dark, of anger and wrath
of the flickering flame, of hateful words
ever alive in my mind
they danced lightly, a mirthful step
for new found pains, and deep rent flesh
spread apart to bone
I ran in night, no rest was found
no truce yet formed with dark
cut by the path, cut by the foe
I left a reddened trail
always heard, the get of fenris
loose of his bonds, the gleam of eyes
so closely set, in shadows brow
light the dark with an eerie glow
a herald of violence to come
long I ran, the wings so torn
my eyes but blackened sockets
no nourishing spring, to quench the first
the ache of empty veins
slowly sank, as the blood ran out
my step to match my heart
the quickened, slowed
the fire died
I sat in wait for dark
no longer cared, no longer fled
a curl of red, a deep torn gash
my heart an empty husk
felt not my wounds, so deeply cut
numb to all around
only the flame, burning within
the feel of my withering flesh
I sat in darkness, waited in night
for the final dark to descend
then heard the pad, of a youthful step
the hunt had yet another quarry
at first I feared, a griseled maw
saw instead a lovely face
a gentle caress, a cooling touch
opened wide the vein
deeply drank, restored the flow,
the sluggish beat of my heart
lifted me up, set me forward
fleed together in dark
both as blind, both as scarred
companions, stained in blood
knit the wounds, cut by time
with each step taken together
a writhe in the fire, hell has stoked
deeply in our hearts
Doubts Whispering
Look about, the spheres of splendour
blaze about you brightly
some shimmer, flicker, slowly die down
the others rekindle their flame
as slowly walked, the lesser paths
belief was found, then thrown away
far off the light, lit by lords
shrouded again by doubt
the paths so wandered, render me joy
so quickly withdraw their pledge
a torch found, quickly dies
when held aloft by my hands
the winds pick up, loudly scream
the circle of light, already so faint
flickers down and dies
another light glimpsed, a league away
I hasten my step to reach it
lest the flame burn down, silently die
leave me again in the cold
a glimpse of her face, her dark borne eyes
before the mists engulf her
take to flight, the lights forgotten
lost again in night
Once more into night
A merciful step, lead me out
the dark descended to death
the sun shone bright, a promise, a hope
As I stood joyfully by her side
Heard a voice, cry in dark
a son of light wandered the fells
knew not the ways, of darkened paths
would soon be prey to night
Glanced at love, its shining face
felt the warmth of day,
stared at the sun, till it hurt my eyes
would not soon forget
Then turned swiftly, into shadow walked
the light behind burnt out
the cold descended, froze my limbs
I wandered in search of the pack
A plunge into dark, once more to wander
returned, master of night
having known the light, long thought dead
I knew it waited yet still
to a faithless depth, a chasm of night
I walked in search of a friend
found him laying, a huddled mass
around him lay his kin
no pulse of life, in his heart
I gave of my vein, for his
grasped his face, and lifted his eyes
bade him stare at the stars
they were his guide, will ever yet be
to reach the end of the path
not so far to travel, as I have trekked
walk straight, and the dark shall pass
no fell chasm open, to swallow your form
no earthen maw to grasp you
a howl is heard, the pack is loose
walk quickly to the end
the light ever moves, circles our sphere
we dare not lay in wait
the fallen wraith, the glittering eyes
flee from the light, if stayed in wait
would fall among them,
our journey brought to end
dark is not eternal, save for its children
the weary, are left by choice
night has ending, as day begins
ever caught in dawning
The fiend within
The night is silent, the howls have ceased
In answer my step has slowed
One foot forward, another back
The fall of the sands to mark my step
Around me silence, no shining eyes
Peer at me from dark
The night is empty, the shadows thick
all about me is dead
Stare at the sky, my blackened eyes
Reflect a gentle pallor
A soft blue light, shows my way
The moon risen to rule
A cry in night, I spring aside
Fear the eyes of wrath
Find instead a newborn babe
Left to the shadow, offered the mists
A sacrifice to cold
A loud cry heard, erupts from night
A fell hound dogs my step
Brood of fenris, daggers bearing
I turn to meet its rush
Find instead, all is empty
The moonlight grasping air
Stare about, nought percieved
Save the wail of the child
Turn my head, a moment tarried
Staring at the child, my heart beats slow
My blood runs cold, my eyes a glass over
Turn away its pleas, turn aside
As I walk away, the mists engulf it
As the night drags on,
My thoughts are stirred
My heart more quickly beats
With every step, feel the sorrows
Well within my heart
With each beat quickening
The blood flows fast,
My past deeds are revived
The night descended,
I rest my eyes
sightless, nothing changes,
trust in night, lay my head
upon my gnarled hands
a herald of night, a piercing cry
a snarl heard without, leap to my feet
fire in shadow, again meet silence
the empty night
as the sands thus fall, a soft light glows
a shard before me stands
the purest work, wrought of earth
neptune's slendour thus mirrored
long I stood, staring within
the endless depths of glass
so cold in regard, my twisted form,
a soft toothed smile, a twisted sneer
as each is wrought, each so fades
the visage before, stares intently
a new life stirred in its eyes
the image wripples, shifts and warps
the smile long gone from my lips
as I stare at my shimmering brother
hovering silently before me
the shifted stares, a horrid grin
the source of the cry made clear
stare at my hands, the curving claws
scarred by the shackles laid on me
from my eyes, ablaze in blue
stares the face of the pack,
stumble back, in disbelief
tear at my flesh, loathe the change
while all about, the darkened forms
my fallen brethren, sit on their haunches
wait in silence as I join them
the fire kindles, I tear at my form
new wounds torn, the old to let
the flood of life, streaming down
the widening part in my flesh
tear about, fingers searching
to find the source of the blaze
the fire in full, lit the sky
about me the dark ones shift
the fire well known, have felt its touch
as they dragged down their quarry
what is sought, is found,
my hands are scorched
my true hide gone, scratched and raw
what is left, withered and black
save the flow of red
an airy form, within it glows,
the golden eyes of the pack
seize it up, snatch it away,
embrace it to the fire
a scream of rage issues about,
to match my cry of pain
flail about, a flashing light,
the roar of fire, my brethren's snarl
I sink into night
The hand of fear
Caught in absence, a desperate hand
moved by the cold within
raise the claw, the curling steel
to rend your lovely flesh
how I mourn the pain, that lies within
a sorrow you should not bear
I fear my love, weighs on you heavily
another scar to the wrist
In night I lay, wrapped in gloom
about me folded the shadows
fitfully sleep, locked in feud
with my despairing dreams
grasping, clutching, crying in dark
lest they take to flight
with the first stroke rendered
your flesh lets dark
my eyes, open from rest
stare wordlessly at the pulsing wound
bleeding from my arm
stare about, seek the source
my heart grown heavy, i send forth my eyes
behold your form, soft and gentle
bleeding on the ground
despairingly feel, my empty veins
my heart pushes no life
in vain I turn, suckle the wound
a serpent turned on its tail
as the blood lets out, seek to restore
the flow, despair has leeched
your loss broken, the steady rhythm
your life had restored to my heart
in dark I lay, desperately drawing
more blood lost than gained
my last thought stirred, your lovely face
as I sink into dark
The Fallen
Far I fell, my brethren wailing,
I looked about in darkness
the heaven's wept as your wings were cut,
its tears fell as your blood,
fallen to earth I stared at your face,
and knelt beside your form
new to the winds, new to night,
I kissed your curving lips
your eyes did open and stare in shock
so griseled in form, stained in blood
a gentle hand I raised you with,
caressed your sweat drenched skin
my eyes in yours, you saw my soul,
as scarred and blackened, as the fires have made it
it yet holds my love
stand with me, in darkness walk
together we shall ascend
our long lost home, cries for us yet
our love shall raise us up
Let the dark come
The fears so strong, I bend and sway
Their hands grasp at my heart
Stare at the glass, my horrid face
the eyes reflected...not mine
the cold they own, the winter's touch
invades my broken form
I shiver, lay, clutching my face
tremble in the torment
my tears frozen, by my cold
in hate have hurt, in hurting hate
my heart so black, to have turned away
all I hold is loss
each hand that has touched me
done nought but scar
as i lay filled with nothing
your time began, you stood beside me
caressed me, soothed me,
I layed with you for a time,
then the cold, welled up inside
I stared ahead to the night
your gentle touch, I cut the hand
the only one to love me
how loathesome become, my demons surfaced
I've fallen to the pack
with each scar I've cut, died inside
the cold has ever grown, the pain welled up
pinned I lay helpless, stare wide eyed, as the dagger falls
shake to the blades cold touch, as it enters my flesh
tears it apart, scream in my torture,
I look at the hand, that bears it down
know my own, cut myself, with each scar dealt you
I wish for the pain's release,
be it the dagger, or your soft touch
let it just come to end
Fenris Get
ever man has prattled on
hopes light, out shining shadow
when all the world wants your fall
what hopes yet remain ?
from birth the backs of newborn babe
are bowed by your weight
you foster what festers
our minds left to rot
the voice of our reason silenced
each dissembling brethren
such as their sire
the get of deceit, hear their voices
with each hateful word, the pulse of my heart
rings more louldly within my mind
what love have you found
that has not yet left ?
what friend who was not a foe ?
their friendly mask
a clever illusion, woven to ease the heart
each shining eye, and gentle face
a mask borne of fenris
with each step taken down your path
the shadows shook, congealed, took form
you walked in silence, no hope found
in trust reach a shaking hand
in shock find it cut
the shadow dispersed
you walk again alone
loudly roars the fires of wrath
that burn in your fiendish breast
the fires so hot, they burn you inside
your flesh withers in its heat
raped of the cooling waters of love
turned to the stoic earth
your airy mind, lost in wrath
poisoned by the fires touch
cry aloud, scream in rage
seek to root it out
the flames within, rush to surface
meet the assailant's hands
I feel the fires, your dark words weigh
I know your glittering eyes
they shine in dark, stare into my soul
my hate roused by their scrutiny
the fires, quench
extinguish the light, of your hate filled eyes
no more the wrath, your words unravel
the fetters broke, the lock is thrown
I will be free!
A winter night
silver blades strike the earth
borne of dark, it cuts the shadow
ragged breathing, I drew in gasps
what comfort the air would give me
my warmth escaping, my heart beat slower
I staired up from night
your light step resounds
in a world of glass,
silver trees casts blackened shadows
the darkness falls, outlines your form
as you walked under my night
see me lying, caress me, hold me
the fire stoked full with sorrow
my own hell burning, foreshadows my fate
with each tear I've shed,
frozen solid, a mask of ice
the fire burns yet lower
my tears long dried, welled anew,
I staired into your face,
spoke softly, kindly, caressed your cheek
your eyes aglow, your sweet face smiled
I longed for your touch
deprived of strength, I leaned against you
the fires within me burned lower
knew not the wounds, your cloak concealed
cut by sorrow's hand
embraced you harder, not knowing the pain
that welled up within
the thin shroud about you, stained in red
a salty taste on my lips
tasted the love, time has left you
despaired my dream should die
though I saw my pain, mirrored in your eyes
I yearned to drink yet further
will time close the wounds, it has cut ?
I long to help them heal
to caress the pallor, of your bloodless wrists
to soothe each hurt inside you
tattered, my flesh hangs in shreds
my own blood pulsing forth
to hold you closer, feed your veins
in turn I feed my own,
what new sorrow found,
as you slip away
I grasp at moonlight
each day has an end
with the birth of dawn
all about is spring
the winter receded, back to night
the fields left barren, begin to bloom
each seed sprouted, lifted its arms
strecthed them to the sun
some I found, delicate and soft
others jutting thorns
each splinter split, and wilted leaf
reaching for the light
the vines about them, snake around
lifted themselves on oaken shoulders
with the coming of noon
the rays beat down
all is parched and dry
some flowers die, wither back
others stand yet taller
in the glory of day
blossum brightly, the red of blood
the black of night, day reflected in white
to each a thorn, to each a hue
the sun rolls cross the sky
dusk has come, the sun drops down
in the rays, the petals drop
some wither, reduce to black
drop down to ground
the growing night, gives its seed
the mists come to cover them
each stretched its leaves, longing for light
each was cast to dark,
a single day, a dawn, a dusk,
the field gone back to barrens
the sands of time
An empty plain, vast and wide
a glass stands in its midst
the sands of time, steadily fall
with each drop of my blood
trudge along, bearing the weight
the gift of the sands
knees buckling, I near the fall
as the sands run out, my burdened lightened
as I bleed, my body dies
three men stand, robed and grim
red of blood, frost born white,
the black of night, of time unknown
each stand accusing
with each blow struck and each word cried
I tense against the rage
the fire stoked, the heat that pours
the pulse of my open wounds
cringing, sit, as each man passes
the white whispers, the red screams
the silence of night, found in black
the colors combine, my eyes grow heavy
I hear the pulse of my veins
the cry of one rouses my wrath
I strike instead the other
the black has fallen, hood thrown back
stained in blood, my face revealed
the sands run out, my empty veins
ache again for life, the shadows came
I hear the tread, the lonely step
as the sands begin to fall
a wolfskin coat
Open your eyes, stare about, all the world's a haze
the dusts are lifted, cast about
the grains thrown to your eyes
three men stand, robed, each in different hues
you glimpse a face, a shattered glass
before it crumbles to dust
lift your burden, tread about
the men have become nothing
a stinging pain, upon your wrist
a single trail of blood
each fellow found upon the path
cut another wound
what joy we find, in other's pains
turn on them like wolves
we offer them up, as lambs to the pack
pray that we are not among them
as you trudge along, from field to field
each hurt you cause your kinsman
has no use, has no change
all is done for nought
a fool to think, the sands have caring
they yield to the travler's step
that which is perilous, often seems safe
the land gives way to swallow you
what purpose lies, what need roused
that we should know such woe ?
we carp and pick, claw and hate
our rage becomes a haze
our eyes thus blinded, we find not our folly
until the world fades away
our hopes, nothing
our dreams, broken
our life lived in emptiness
will the wolves go on, blinded by hunger
never knowing they are but lambs ?
or will thy fellow tear at thy flesh
the pain lent thee sight
the pulsing chalice
the night has come, the plains grown cold
we come together for warmth
cling to each other, as the dews settle
watch the last rays of day
each bends into the other
as our veins empty to earth
press our lips, drinking deeply
further each other's death
more is lost, then we have gained
the youth ebbs from our forms
still we smile, a secret gift
each embracing the bliss
as the blood runs out
we drink more deeply, both knowing the price
to cling together, in night so bound
only furthers the dark
life in death, as death in life
in life we stare, impassioned
no glow to our eyes, blackened and blind
our death at least brings warmth
some salty prize, to suckle, to savor
our lips stained in red
my shadowed eyes, stare into your's
the first glint of light, our nights cold
we overcome its chill
in what life we give each other
The path of the slave
the lowly slave, brought to block
stands, resigned, in silence
why care what fate awaits ?
pain is all we know
we march to the sound, the crack of the whip
pushes us ever forward
we toil and slave, a thankless cause
our gnarled hands, work a soil
that bears a barren crop
for whom do we live, day to day ?
our lives lain out before us
we trudge and crawl, life shows its thanks
we feel its knives twist inwards
each meaningless task, to us lends no gain
our vocation remains the same
to suffer and hate, to hurt and long
the wages of life, its end
as we silently walk from cell to field
we dare not raise our eyes
to focus our eyes, on a barren world
will condemn them to blindness
stare about, behold the fruits, of you pain filled labor
a barren field, worked and fallow
the whole world stained to black
your wounds left a trail, on your daily trek
the earth stained, as your life runs out
raise your voice, a wail, a cry
rough hands seize you, silence your tongue
held down, forced, your eyes forced open
the orange light of heated steel
bind shut your jaw, muffle your scream
as your sight is torn away
the clink of chains your only friend
your step begins to slow
in blackness live, in blackness die
you fall to your knees, not much has changed
death not altered life
The wages of time
slowly the knives are dragged across
your pinkish quivering skin
as the flesh is spread, the air is filled
the smell of blood, the grayish steam
the echo of your screams
each pain ends, is quickly replaced
your cries become a wimper
your body shakes, as the blood runs out
each shining tool, the torturer hefts
is replaced, stained in blood
all is ended, it has only begun
always began anew
as the night about, jeered and taunted
the shadows echoed your cry
twisted and changed, echoed in delight
your voice thrown back in mockery
engrossed in his work, the torturer's face
a darkened, stoic mask
his eyes, how they gleam, a face peers back
from their glowing depths
a griseled maw, dripping blood
teeth showing, a ghastly grin
you lay screaming, your curses ceased
no complaint will end the pain
the torturer skilled, adept at his work
your cries could last a century
resign to die, denied even that
your pleas remain unanswered
Hates ressurection
the torturer's eyes, blaze anew
the face nearly surfaced, two new eyes
gaze into your's , he lifts his hands
grasping his head, he stumbles back
two hands have surfaced, his ribs spread open
a tortured scream, he falls to the ground
blackened and drenched, dripping blood
stands above a crumpled form
a mass of black robes, stained darker with blood
the bones jut, piercing the flesh
the head swivels, seeks your face,
its eyes fix on you, it takes a tentative step
bound and gagged, you cannot move
may not even scream
lays its hands, upon your shoulders
a slathering maw hovers over you
the stench of ichor, a hint of iron
death permeates its hide
two gleaming eyes, the blood lust gone
blaze anew with fury,
an evil smile, shows its teeth
a fire burns in its eyes
leans closer, the stench overpowering
a sudden pain has gripped you
fire spread, darted down
burns away your eyes, the muffled cry
your voice gives forth
breaks free of its bonds, as the twisted form
gnarled and stained, changes into mist
the last fire entered, the rest has died
you stand, free of your bonds
a black robe adorns, your tortured body
withered by your pain
a fitting vestment, as those you touch
twist in the pain you deal them
hate the faces, the dark whispers
that flood your barren mind
resign to serve, a slave to the end
the face comes closer to surface
A mist drawn world
A sudden chill, takes the winds
all about a mist
an endless cloud, sank to earth
at some times calm, or brought to violent life
obscures my view, hangs about
as I walk within this misty wor;d
a grayish, empty sky
all I've seen, all I've known
the first taste of fog, openened my eyes
the chill made me numb
each transparent droplet, fills the skies
tossed about by the winds
when one is dispersed, another takes form
about me swirls as a breachless barrier
each step I take, it yet remains
no blinding wall, before mine eyes
as I reach each, it fades away
in the distance, descends a shroud
gray in hue, taken form from nothing
few rays strike the barren earth
sired of hades, a mist filled world
a fragile flower, a white bloomed bud
an eternity yet to bloom
I kneel down, drop to my knees
grow drunk on its scent
despair to find, its bloom grown black
as each poison stirring, alive in my blood
seeps into the stem
a hundred such blooms grow about
each I touch dies down
the decay I foster, taken each
each withered to nought
as in glory they began, triumphed over
the chill the mists had stirred
the empty time, when no light struck
all that began to end
I fear that my touch, has hurt you yet
the black blood coursing, through my veins
poisoned your frail heart,
broken the vessel, with each beat of my heart
your's has slowed, my life become a burden
Time's March
In this world of empty hearts
empty faces, empty words
what happiness found, passes on
buried by the sands
death in life, as life marches to death
each day's decay, the scent of dying
that brackish odor, wafts from your blood
as it pours into the ground
each moment dies, turned to dust
our memories recede, are cast to the winds
a million moments pass us by
as life to each, cast a jeering taunt
hurt us, broke us, left us to bleed
left us alone to death
A moon lit world
All about, the world is silence
I open my eyes and stare
the moonlight falls, a lovely pallor
overtaken the night
each midnight pain, and heart borne despair
I cringe more with each
none look on me, ease the pains
that well up from within
no pity shown a lonely child
lost in the midst of night
so many hands, reach out in violence
voices raised in hatred
each day you rest, nothing changes
you trudge through your night
close your eyes, the shadow remains
still the voices call, cover your eyes
the blows still felt, can only move yet forward
as time progresses, a word taken seed
germinates within, the pains that left
emptiness replaced, your form grown hollow
now brittle as glass, your body crumbling
veinlike cracks adorn you, with each days hurt
more fragments formed, in the end, what will remain ?
A death of the self
How loudly the voice of hate has sounded
your ears ledtr deaf by the sound
when the gentle whisper of love's voice has spoken
the words fall on you, empty
each step I have taken
the red glow of fire
the air perfumed with sulfur
scorched and blackened, my skin pulled tight
the waters within me dried
parched, my lips, thirst for the life
hate denied me, ever stolen
my longing it before me flashed, to quicken my step
draw me forward, in folly followed, my yearning denied
my dream snatched away
a rhythmic step, the echo of stone
heel to stone, the clink of steel
all about, the heat overwhelming
a ray of red to blind the eyes
a wave of heat to dry them
I've stood and listened, the stirring within
my body, parched, become a womb
the seed hate fathered, begun to blossum
twisting within my body
a sudden flash, a blinding light
the roar of fire, deafens my ears
all throughout, a pain has filled me
I fall down, sink down, my knees touch earth
writhe in the pain, isolation has fostered
wasted hands to grasp my face
a dark stream, stained my skin
my eyes darkened to black
clasping my body, embrace myself
my body shaking, as if in cold
the crack of bone, as each blow is struck
a wound formed over the heart
head thrown back in a silent scream
flesh spread open, bone revealed
two hands push back the skin
a face emerging, two glowing eyes
my tortured face, stares into its
the maw opens, closes on me
the pain grows more, as each shred is torn
the light dies further, all about, the world stands laughing
the only sound, as I close my eyes
The Damned
in the beginning I stood in light
the angel's fauning over me
the splendour of there realm
struck a face, un marred by the woe of time
a gentle hand caressed me, I layed my head on its breast
and slept in its arms
as time pressed on, I took a step
first small, I leaned on them
they held me up, fostered each movement
gave me strength, held me close
the world was light, the dark unknown
I stood beside in day
no longer needed their hands to hold me
thought I could stand on my own
took a step, then a leap
despairing I fell, swooned and struck ground
blacked out from the shock
the light winked out, the shadows emerged
I lost myself in the night
white skinned fingers, marred and torn
my back bowed by the weight,
hunched and broken, I walked, crumpled
my form become that of a fiend
my mind just as scarred
I hated and hurt, each hand that touched me I tore
thinking in hurt, others should know, the pain that lie within me
long I walked, hurt each I touched
bathed them in fire, as my toil stretched on
grew weary of the screams, that now sounded in my mind
let my head sink down, my ears grown numb
deafened by the voices in my head
you found me huddled, my head lain down
clasping the remnants of my humanity
a fiendish heart, in a fiendish breast
its beat slowed, you knew it not
you touched my hands, so gnarled and torn
mindless of the blood that stained them
and my fiendish heart, so black and scarred
began to become a gray
as the voices screamed, I despaired that each
should ever have been raised in wailing
I listened to your voice, and for once knew love
my form began to change,
such a dissembling face, wearing a mask of sorrow
beneath it lie the shadow
with each day spent, with each pain felt
the hurt again replenishes, my eyes gone blind
all about a haze, the voices again are screaming
my love still felt, I would hold you close
sleep, and forget, to feel your arms
about me tighten, the sense of death gone away
let me begin life
