I see no need to go into an EXTREMELY thorough description of each
organization I have listed below, but I will describe it none the less and
supply a link if possible. Please approach each with discretion and
common sense, these pages may contain falsehoods, but this is probably
unlikely.
A variant of the original
order of Magicians that is based around Crowley's Thelema. They draw extensively from his teachings and still perpetuate
them today.
The closest thing to the original order of the Golden Dawn in existence. Of which the more widely known mages such as S.L. Macgregor Mathers,
Israel Regardie, and even Aleister Crowley himself (who feuded constantly with Mathers and left in anger), were at one time
members.
This order was not founded by, but was at one
time headed by Crowley himself. It rivals even the more well known HGD above, in size and influence, and has been
the sire of many successful magicians. It has lodges existing worldwide, many of which are found the U.S. In its past, I have heard
it had close ties with freemasonry, which is yet another esoteric organization, which is sadly becoming more of a
christian social club, than a center of spiritual development. The link I am directing you too is the U.S. grand lodge, who's
page I believe to be most helpful and informative.
I am not entirely certain of
this link, so please follow the instructions given in it warily. Crowley had founded an order going by this name, but
the last I heard its numbers had dwindled, greatly.
One of the few official odinist churches in existence. This link I'm sure of at least. This page supplies
information on our religion, along with lists of contacts in just about every state of the U.S.
This foundation is
not in essence magical. It is not an order, and does not provide initiation. It does however provide a LARGE amount
of information on Aleister Crowley and his teachings.
Thelemic in nature
and reportedly teaches much about the golden dawn system of magick, tantra, and paganism. Centered in England. Please do some
careful investigation into this one before following through with any directions given, I found its link on the Aleister Crowley
foundation's webpage, but am not entirely sure about it.
